National Ventilation's solution for LCL's luxury apartments
2nd February 2007National Ventilation have recently won a contract to supply Whole House Heat Recovery units for the exclusive development of 30 luxury apartments and penthouses at Shaws Alley in central Liverpool.
The Shaws Alley project is part of a £6M prestigious development, which commenced in 2005 and is due for completion
by early Autumn 2006.
This landmark project reflects LCL Group's innovative approach in joining original landowners in a "stand-alone" partnership to develop the site and thus produce significant additional value and revenue for all parties.

Looking out over the beautiful
Riverfront vista, the Baltic Triangle area is a keystone in the
regeneration of the City areasadjacent to the King's Dock and an essential link to most major developments in the Grosvenor Paradise scheme.
Jason Smithen of National Ventilation has been working closely with site developers LCL during the initial planning and
designing stage. He has also found working alongside Electrical contractor K.G Electrical and consultants Consolux to be very harmonious.
The ventilation scheme was designed by National Ventilation to give the most efficient and eco-nomical solution to both
the extract and supply of fresh air.
The Heat Recovery Unit (HVR) is designed to extract moist / stale air from "wet rooms" i.e kitchen, bathroom and toilets
and return fresh air into "living spaces" i.e lounge, dining and bedrooms.
The extracted air is routed through ducting to the central unit where a heat exchanger removes up to 70% of its heat before
expelling the unwanted air outside. At the same time fresh air is being drawn from outside via the central unit where it is warmed using the heat recovered (the two air streams never mix) and is then ducted back into the "living spaces".
In this way continuous ventilation is given throughout the home to provide a healthy environment, free from stale, stuffy air and problems caused by excessive moisture.
Other benefits of using Heat Recovery are;
- Reduces condensation, damp and mould growth.
- Reduces heating bills.
- No requirements for opening windows (improved security)
- Reduces house mite population, thereby alleviating the risk of asthma and hay fever.
- Conforms to all building regulations and are BISRIA Test certificated ID48430.
This is just one of the many successful projects that National Ventilation has undertaken. Contractors and installers
take pleasure from the peace of mind that the National Ventilation full design and specification service gives them. The
fact that this service is free of charge is of course just another added bonus.
